Shawn Shan is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at University of Chicago. His research focuses on developing technical solutions to protect people from malicious uses of AI. He is a recipient of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Award, the USENIX Internet Defense Prize, and the Chicago Innovation Award. His research has received the Best Paper and Internet Defense Award in USENIX, and covered by media outlets such as the New York Times, BBC, Scientific American, and MIT Tech Review.
